The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department and the A. Fielder Memorial Safe Haven – Weed & Seed Program is partnering with Beck’s Roasting House & Creamery “Coffee for Causes” promotion.
Weed & Seed, an after-school program, at 906 N Tornillo St., will receive a percentage of all proceeds from the sale of Beck’s special breakfast blend coffee created especially for this promotion and packaged in 1-pound bags.
Desier M. Carrillo, a fifth grade student at Alameda Elementary School, designed the winning artwork to be featured on the coffee bag labeling, with a short history about the program. Children from the Weed & Seed After School program were asked to submit designs for the label to be considered for the packaging.
“The owners of Beck’s chose to sponsor our Weed & Seed program because they have witnessed firsthand the positive outcomes of children involved in the activities we provide,” said Sonya Delgado, Director, Parks & Recreation Department. “We look forward to making this partnership a success and of course, to a great cup of coffee!”
The Weed & Seed special breakfast coffee blend is available for purchase at Beck’s Roasting House & Creamer, 130 N. Mesquite St. Each bag costs $15 and yields approximately 32 cups of delicious coffee for less than 50 cents a cup!
Beck’s is a locally owned business in the heart of downtown Las Cruces, just east of Klein Park on Mesquite Street. Ty Thacker and Arianna Parsons, owners, are believers in giving back to those who are providing a positive and beneficial service to the community.
