City Website Displays Community Resources Including Map for Meals for Kids

March 25, 2020 Carlos Arreola

The City of Las Cruces continues to monitor the situation regarding the spread of the Novel Coronavirus and is hoping to remain a reliable asset in the community when it comes to sharing information on health and safety, best practices, and resources for residents, guests and businesses.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 on our community, the City has compiled a list of resources for residents affected by this health emergency on its website: las-cruces.org. COVID-19 related news and information is being shared in the COVID-19 Alerts section which you can link to at the top of the homepage. http://www.las-cruces.org/AlertCenter.aspx.

One of the resources in the “Resources for Family and Youth” section includes a map to help families locate meal distribution sites for children in our community. The map, created by one of the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS) analysts, displays a star for each meal distribution site provided by Las Cruces Public Schools & Family and Youth Inc. The map is located at http://www.las-cruces.org/2121/Resources-for-Families-Youth. Meals are provided for youth, 18 years of age or younger who are enrolled in public, private or charter schools. Meal are designed for pick up only through April 6.
