Come to the Museum of Art, 491 N. Main St., on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 and Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 for hands-on art experiences making vegetable prints and crafting “fossil casts.” No registration is required, and all materials will be provided by the museum.
From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. January 11, vegetable prints for families and youth, ages 17 and younger, will be made. Vegetable prints are simple pictures that can be made by applying paint onto sturdy vegetables, such as potatoes and carrots, and pressing them onto paper.
From 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. January 25, crafting “fossil casts” for adults, ages 18 and older, will be made. Do-It-Yourself fossil casting, using plaster, can transform the impression of just about any object into a solid piece that can last for years.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The Museum of Art is accessible on RoadRUNNER Transit Route 1, Stop 36.
