The Las Cruces Museum of Nature & Science, 411 N. Main St., presents “Family STEM Night – Space,” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019. The program is part of the Las Cruces Museum System’s “Summer Wednesdays” evening series. The Las Cruces Museums offer extended hours until 8 p.m. every Wednesday during June, July, and August. The program is free to the public.
In 1969, Neil Armstrong spoke the now-famous words, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” Help the museum celebrate the 50th anniversary of NASA’s Apollo missions at this family event. Design a moon lander that will safely land your “astronauts” on the moon and build them a rover to explore the lunar surface. All materials are provided.
The Museum of Nature & Science is open from 10 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, with extended summer hours on Wednesdays until 8 p.m. from June through August, and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. For information, visit the City’s Museum System website or call 575/522-3120.
