Get ArtRageous! is a new offering for the Doña Ana Arts Council, bringing in expert teaching artists on a wide variety of topics to the community. Local artists Sally Quillin, Judy Licht and Pat Black will be the first to offer classes. In February, classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. and will include materials, light refreshments and a glass of wine. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to experience creating art. Beginners and experts are all welcome.

We’re calling these art classes Get ArtRageous! because we want people to have fun,” says DAAC President Barbara Reasoner. “Create, libate, discover your hidden talents, and walk away with your own masterpiece.”

Each class is offered separately. All classes will take place at the DAAC Arts & Cultural Center, located in the Bulletin Plaza at 1740 Calle de Mercado, Suite – D (next to Paisano Café). Each class is $25 plus materials (about $5); including light refreshments and a glass of wine. Class size is limited. Proceeds from this program will be used to support the non-profit’s community art programs for children.

“We’re thrilled to offer the Get Artrageous! art classes along with the Feed Your Mind seminars featuring local experts speaking on a range of topics,” says DAAC board president Barbara Reasoner. “We envision our beautiful new Arts and Cultural Center as the meeting place for taking classes, enjoying a seminar, listening to music and whatever else we come up with for promoting the local art scene. This is the time to show off and promote all the talent that we have in the Mesilla Valley!”

To register or for more information, go to or call the DAAC office at (575) 523-6403.
