10-10 Arts Hop provides 10 hours of art in Las Cruces every second Saturday of the month. Spend a day meeting artists, visiting galleries and joining in special art activities with the Doña Ana Arts Council Arts & Cultural Center, Rokoko Art Gallery, NMSU University Art Gallery, Cutter Gallery, Art Obscura, and the Four Points Perspective Art Gallery. The participating University-area galleries are open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., the Mesilla Mercado-area galleries are open from 4 –7 p.m., and the south Mesilla/Mesilla Park galleries are open from 7 – 10 p.m.
In June, the Arts & Cultural Center will exhibit the “Low Riders, Hoppers and Hot Rods” photography exhibit on loan from the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs Archive Collection.
The Lowriders, Hoppers and Hot Rods photography exhibit to be displayed at the Arts & Cultural Center at the Doña Ana Arts Council is curated by the state of New Mexico, featuring photographs through the decades of these specialized cars. The exhibit will be featured during Dale Gas! Concert and Car Show on June 22nd, and on display until June 25 during the Arts & Cultural Center’s office hours of Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but also opening for the Second Saturday 10 – 10 arts hop on Saturday, June 9, from 4 – 7 p.m.

Career Art Path Visual Art Camp for fifth to eighth grade students

Hands-on ceramic, painting, sculpture, textiles, jewelry, and printmaking. Students take field trips to local galleries, museums, and businesses for exploration of the many career avenues available in the arts. Tuition is $100 per student for the two-week camp. Partial scholarships are available. The program culminates with an art show featuring the students’ art work on June 22 at 1 p.m. at Alma d’arte Charter High School.

Unplugged Series: Theatre Dojo’s “Songs of Un-Creation”
The Doña Ana Arts Council will again present the acclaimed southwestern New Mexico duo of Randy Granger and Algernon D’Ammassa as part of its Unplugged series this summer. For one evening only, the two will perform the New Mexico premiere of their latest original work, “Songs of Un-Creation.” This work keeps the convention of the two actors as the ancient, homeless wanderers ruminating on tales of the earth’s origins. $10 online or at the door.

Missoula Children’s Theatre week-long theatre experience for kindergarten through 12th grade students. Try outs for “Peter and Wendy” start at 10 a.m. sharp on Monday, July 9. Please arrive by 9:45 a.m. for sign up. Plan for two hours for tryouts. The camp’s culminating performance will be Friday, July 13, at 7 p.m. at Oñate High School’s Performing Arts Center.
