This high school junior dreams of traveling the world—before picking up the scalpel.

Junior at Oñate High School
“My favorite subject is health occupations. It helps prepare you for the medical field, so upon graduation I’ll have a better understanding of the field.”
Reasons to Love OHS:
“What I like best about my school is they have so much to offer students. They don’t limit the amount of attention or help a student may need. They do not discourage a student if they learn differently from others. Teachers are always kind and willing to help.”
Goals & Dreams:
“After high school, I plan on going to college to become a cardiothoracic surgeon. If I could choose any college, I would love to study at the University of New Mexico. Medical school is hard work, with a lot of time and dedication. After obtaining my degree, I plan on doing a little sightseeing around the world as a reward for my hard work. I would eventually like to start a family of my own, once I have established my career.”
“As a child, I had a dream of growing up and being a pop star like Hannah Montana. Once I saw how cool and interesting it is to be a surgeon, I chose to put the microphone down to pick up a scalpel.”
