Here’s a quick look at events in Las Cruces for the weekend of Sept. 20-22, 2019.
Friday, Sept. 20
La Gran Fiesta, CARE’s signature cancer fundraiser, celebrates southern New Mexico’s traditions, people, food and more with live entertainment, delicious food vendors, craft and art vendors and children’s activities from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday at the downtown Plaza de Las Cruces. Headliners include Bobby Pulido on Friday and Michael Salgado on Saturday, along with a ton of great local talent.
Tickets are $20 per person each day, with children 10 and younger admitted free.

Friday’s live music schedule includes music in the patio with Ed & Jerry at La Posta de Mesilla (6-9 p.m.); Chris Baker at Amaro Winery (7-10 p.m.); Tequila Nights at The Game and Derrick Harris Band at The Game II (7 to 11 p.m.); Rio Grande Bluegrass Band at Vintage Wines (8-10 p.m.); Triple Jack at Pecan Grill & Brewery (8-11 p.m.); and Smokin’ Blue Band at Little Toad Creek (8 to 11 p.m.).
Saturday, Sept. 21
Kids of all ages are invited to the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum’s Crafts for Kids program, set for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. In honor of National Clean Up Day, guests will weave on paper plate looms with plastic bags. Participants are welcome to bring old fabric or their own plastic bags to recycle into a weaving. Looms and warp yarn will be provided. Crafts for Kids is free with regular admission of $5 adults, $4 seniors and $3 children ages 4-17.

(8 to 11 p.m.).
Sunday, Sept. 22
Sunday’s live music schedule includes The Two of Us at Sombra Antigua Winery (2:30 to 5:30 p.m.); Cajon Brothers at Vintage Wines (3:30-5:30 p.m.); and Calista at Little Toad Creek (5 p.m.)
