Is your pooch in need of a day out on the town? Here are some of the places Fido can tag along in Las Cruces.
Andele Dog House
1983 Calle Del Norte
You’d be hard pressed to find a more dog-friendly restaurant in Las Cruces than Mesilla mainstay Andele Restaurante’s sister store Andele Dog House, located just across the street from the original location. Leashed and well-behaved dogs are allowed on the patio — just follow the paw prints along the west side of the building. While you’re there, try one of the Dog House’s signature Mexican Dogs or Chile Con Queso Dogs.
Caliche’s Frozen Custard
131 N. Roadrunner Parkway
590 S. Valley Drive
Nothing cools better than a cold, creamy Caliche’s custard or float on a hot summer night. Dogs aren’t just allowed at this summertime staple; Caliche’s employees will even make your pup his or her very own Poochie Cone!
Farmers & Craft Market of Las Cruces
Main Street Downtown
8 a.m. to noon Saturdays
Every Saturday morning, shoppers and strollers fill Las Cruces’ Main Street Downtown, many of them with their canine companions happily in tow. Lots of market vendors are kind enough to put out dishes of water for thirsty pups, and a few may even offer yours a treat!
Luna Rossa Winery & Pizzeria
1321 Avenida de Mesilla
Enjoy a gourmet pizza, a glass of wine and finish it off with a scoop of Luna Rossa’s to-die- for gelato, along with man’s best friend, on this Mesilla eatery’s understated patio loaded with old-world charm.
Milagro Coffee y Espresso
1733 E. University Ave.
Well-behaved pups are always welcome on the patio of this bustling but laid-back University-area coffee house.
St. Clair Winery & Bistro
1720 Avenida De Mesilla
Spend time with man’s best friend, and man’s other best friend — wine — along with a nosh or dinner on the casual, covered outdoor patio of Las Cruces’ largest winery and bistro.
Las Cruces Food Truck Fiesta
Plaza de Las Cruces
6 to 9 p.m. first and third Wednesdays of the month
A handful of Las Cruces’ finest and most forward-thinking mobile eateries band together on the first and third Wednesdays of each month on Plaza de Las Cruces to serve up some of their coolest culinary creations, and pets — on leashes — are always welcome to join in on the food and fun.
Bosque Brewing Co.
901 E. University Ave. Bldg. 945
The patio area of this hip, University-adjacent taproom and restaurant is almost always packed with craft beer lovers and their canine companions. Beat the heat or unwind after a long day with a pint and a bowl of water for your pooch.
The Bean Cafe
2011 Avenida de Mesilla
This eclectic Mesilla coffee shop offers up great food, fresh-baked pastries in a relaxed — and pet-friendly — environment. Leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome on the patio.
High Desert Brewing Company
1201 W. Hadley Ave.
Not only is High Desert Las Cruces’ oldest craft brewery, it’s also one among the first and longest-standing pet-friendly places in town! Have a pint and grub on some of High Desert’s great pub-style food… with your pooch, of course.
