IT'S A WINE TIME IN THE MESILLA VALLEY
Since the days of Don Juan de Oñate, wine has had a fruitful existence in the
fertile Mesilla Valley. Once considered the "principal industry of the people," winemaking in
the valley hit a low-point in the early 1900's. However, there has been a new surge of wine
growers, producing solid, good-quailty wine, popping up in Southern New Mexico.
Now, with over a dozen wineries in the area, there has never been a better time to visit their
incredible atmospheres and taste their delicious samplings.
